Equipment
The equipment we use and how we use it. We have no specific reason why they work, but they do help.
Cameras:
Cameras
seem to pick up stuff that move faster than the human eye can see, as
well as other anomalies. We take more than one picture from the exact
same spot so we have something to use as a reference. (like before and
after shots)
Camcorder:
The same use as a camera, but its nice to have audio that can go along with it. Who knows? It can pick up EVP too.
EMF Detector:
Electromagnetic Field Detectors pick up certain electrical fields such
as wiring in houses. But if there's nothing electrical around, we find
this very interesting...
Compass:
Some unexplained phenomena cause compasses to spin or point in the wrong direction.
Thermometer:
"Ghosts" and "Spirits" tend to change the temperature in a specific area, otherwise known as cold spots. If one of us feels cold, its nice to be able to actually confirm it.
Tape/ Digital voice recorders:
We use these to try to capture EVP, short for electronic voice
phenomenon. Sometimes, recorders can pick up sounds and voices not
detected by the human ear, but can be heard upon playback.
Dowsing Rods:
Rarely used by us, but still quite interesting. Used to detect hidden energy fields.
Pendulum:
Something else we don't tend to rely on, but with the same purpose as dowsing rods.
What is that ??
Lots of things can look paranormal when you catch them with your camera. Here's what we look for.
Camera straps:
throw them out or wrap them around your wrist. Camera straps can look
spooky, but if they cast a shadow, maybe it wasn't a strap...
Reflections:
reflections can look pretty cool. Don't take pictures where your flash
is pointed directly at a window, mirror, or any other shiny surface,
ie: picture frames, stainless steel and glassware.
Bugs:
Look, a fairy!! Bugs are hard to see sometimes, and can look like
fairies and other creatures. Moths and mosquitoes are the main culprits.
Hair: hair can have the same effect as a camera strap. Anyone in our group with long hair has to keep it tied back.
Moisture, Dust, Rain, Fog, Snow, and Pollen: All of these can look like orbs.
